We hope you are enjoying the beginnings of Summer with its warm rays of hope and lightness of being. What a beautiful season in nature and in life! It is a time for awakening to the fullness of our very own Self. We have become so removed from nature that we tend to forget that we are products of the natural world. But, if we can embrace the notion that human beings are inherently natural, bringing in to the forefront of our day-to-day experiences, we can achieve a new level of wellness that boasts nature at its very core.
I don’t know about you but, I am energized by sweet, fresh air and warm sunlight and simply awed by the majesty of Mother Nature’s beauty. I am sustained by fresh fruits and vegetables that strengthens my connection to the earth. # Awakening to a natural way of being, requires us to delight in nature’s wonders, to derive nourishment from natural foods, and to drink deeply of the wisdom that plants and animals have to share.
Walking Wellness Wholeness Meditation Walk and Festival is our way of introducing you to the healing powers of Nature, alternative/complementary medicines and spiritual practices that supports and sustains a culture of wellbeing. Come join us as we journey through a day filled with a variety of physical, mental, and spiritual activities. You can enjoy a complimentary massage, a reiki session, partake of vegetarian delights, listen to local experts in the fields of alternative medicines and nutrition, support local food/beverage and retail vendors, or just relax and take in nature. We encourage you to bring your family and friends and join a community of people who are committed to exploring healthier ways of living.
Who We Are
TuTTie’s Place is a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization that provides academic, holistic and spiritual programs to inner-city children, youth and families. Our mission is to tap undiscovered talents by training, inspiring and empowering sustainability. We provide these services at our Will of Wisdom Community Center for Wellbeing through Before/Afterschool programs where they are exposed to innovative methods of learning through hands-on, practical life-enhancing educational programs. Older youth participate in our “Ensuring My Success” programs that provides career development, life-skills, job-readiness training, behavioral competencies and job-placement opportunities supported by mentors. Most importantly, we strengthen families. We introduce them to healthy foods, spiritual and holistic modalities that lead to a mind, body, spirit balance. When parents are mentally and emotionally balanced, they are better able to love and compassionately parent their children. In turn, the children thrive, the family thrives and our communities become safer. In essence, we are “the village”, in its deepest sense of community that defines the heart and soul of its people.
The focal point of this event is a mindful meditative walk for peace for our communities and the world. The walk will start promptly at 12:30 pm around the Ashburton Reservoir at the center of Hanlon Park. Walking meditations can be just as profound as sitting meditations and is an exercise young and old can participate in. When done mindfully, you will notice the sensations in your body then bring your awareness to your breath. There is a richness to the experience that you will learn to appreciate forever.
A conscious self-directed and evolving process of achieving ones fullest potential. It is a balance of mind, body, and spirit.
Wholeness is balance. Wholeness is having a center. Wholeness is relationship. Wholeness is individuality. Wholeness is expansiveness. Wholeness is “coming to terms”, with what is. It is an acknowledgment of the world as it is, inside of us and outside of us.
